About Resume Studio
Resume Studio is a free resume builder that runs entirely in your browser. You write your resume in LaTeX, or fill in a guided form, and see it render live as you type.
What you can do
- Write in LaTeX or a form. Switch between the two at any time; the form writes clean LaTeX for you.
- Start from a template. 12 complete examples for common roles, plus a blank starter.
- Review before you apply. The ATS check shows what an applicant tracking system would extract and tests your exported PDF; Domain fit compares your resume with what your field expects; Job fit compares it with a specific posting; Writing checks catch weak bullets.
- Export a real-text PDF, a Word copy, plain text for application forms, the LaTeX source, or a standalone HTML file.
- Import a .tex file, a backup, or a PDF resume, which is converted to editable LaTeX.
- Keep several documents with automatic saving and version history, offline after your first visit.
Privacy
Your resume is rendered and stored in your browser. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. See the privacy notice for details.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Resume Studio free?
- Yes. Every feature is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on downloads.
- Do I need to know LaTeX?
- No. You can fill in a guided form and Resume Studio writes the LaTeX for you, or start from a template and replace the text. You can switch between the form and the LaTeX at any time.
- Is my resume uploaded anywhere?
- No. Your resume is rendered and stored in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server unless you choose to sign in to sync documents between devices, where that option is available.
- Will applicant tracking systems (ATS) be able to read my resume?
- Download PDF saves a PDF with real, selectable text. The ATS check in Review shows what an ATS would extract from your resume, tests the exported PDF, and flags formatting that commonly breaks parsing, such as mixed columns, hidden contact details or unusual dates.
- Can I use my resume in another LaTeX editor?
- Yes. Download the .tex source and build it with any standard TeX distribution or LaTeX editor. You can also import a .tex file you already have.
- Can I convert my existing PDF resume?
- Yes, if the PDF contains selectable text. Click Import and choose the PDF; Resume Studio turns its text into editable LaTeX in your browser. Scanned images need OCR first.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. After your first visit, the app is cached by your browser and keeps working without a connection.
- How do I keep my resumes safe?
- Documents are saved in your browser automatically and every document keeps a version history. Because clearing browsing data removes them, download a backup from Documents from time to time; you can restore it with Import.
